About Waste Water College

Focused online training for the people who operate, maintain, supervise, and improve California water and wastewater systems.

Waste Water College is an online training provider for water and wastewater operators in California. That is the whole scope, and it is deliberate.

Why only California

Operator certification is a state matter, and the differences are not cosmetic. California splits drinking water into treatment and distribution grades under the State Water Board, runs wastewater certification as a separate program, and hands collection systems to CWEA entirely. A course written to cover fifty states covers none of them well.

We would rather teach one state’s requirements accurately than be vague about all of them.

How we build courses

Every course is mapped to a specific certificate and grade before a single lesson is written. The lesson list follows the exam content, the math is taught the way it is asked on the exam, and the regulatory sections cite the California rules rather than federal minimums.

Curriculum is organized around the published certification level, operating topics, calculations, safety responsibilities, and regulatory context. Course pages show the complete module sequence so students can compare it with the current agency bulletin before enrolling.

What we will not do

  • Claim state approval we do not hold. Where approval matters for exam eligibility, we point you at the State Water Board’s own list so you can check.
  • Guarantee a pass. We can prepare you thoroughly; we cannot sit the exam for you.
  • Lock your records up. Download your completion certificates whenever you want, and keep them.
